New Entry (Unit) (Name);
Welcome to the Web Cadet Corps (Unit). Your Drill Instructor will be contacting you shortly and will be guiding you through the joining process. You have selected the (Navy or Coast Guard) and as such have been placed in the Recruit Training Division aboard the Training Ship Phoenix (herein refered to T.S. Phoenix). This division is also known as Raleigh Division. Once you have completed your basic training you will be assigned to an active duty division aboard the ship and become a full fledged member of the ship’s company.
Basic Training is designed to familiarize yourself with the Web Cadet Corps so you know what to do, and where to find everything. In order to achieve this, we have created a Basic Training program which we call C.O.R.P.S. This training program includes video tutorials and downloadable manuals (it's your preference) that will show you how to navigate the site and forums as well as how to use MyWCC, our onsite administrative system which you will become very familiar with during your C.O.R.P.S. training.
To begin your Basic Training you can simply click here, or the C.O..R.P.S Training link on the menu above.
Once you have watched the videos, or read the MyManual, on the C.O.R.P.S. page, you must complete the Cadet Questionnaire for promotion to Junior Cadet (Unit). This questionaire let us know your thoughts on the site, what your interests are, and why you joined so that we can ensure you get the most out of your time in the Web Cadet Corps.
After you have completed the Cadet Questionnaire, move on to Step 2 of C.O.R.P.S. and watch the Navy Video Tutorial (or download the Navy Manual). Until the Coast Guard Cadet Training Plan is developed, Coast Guad members will have to complete the Naval Cadet Training Plan in the interm.
Once you are finished watching the videos complete your Ordinary Seaman Rank Test and you will be done your C.O.R.P.S. Basic Training. Pretty easy right? Well there is one more step after that. You need to make sure you have set up your forums account (as shown how to do in your training videos/manual).
After you set up your Forums Account, you will need to make sure that your Forum Signature is set up properly. Once that is complete you next step is to post in the Getting Started thread of the T.S Phoenix Forum. You will also need to post the Naval Oath to become full fledged members of T.S. Phoenix.
