Commanding Officer's Address

18th August.

It is a great honour to be the new Commanding Officer for the flagship TS Phoenix!! Although I am no stranger to Unit Command positions this is the first time I have had command within the Navy. Previously with TS Eagle (the Coastguard section) and 1RASS (the Army section), I am now back in my original section which I joined back when the WCC was only 12 members strong, under the command of (now retd) LtCdr Mark Blake and dating in the early months of 1997.

I have enjoyed the last year of being within the Navy's unit structure. Having moved up from the DO of Illustrious to XO and now onto CO I look forward to carrying on the excellent work started by both previous CO's; LtCdr Sylvester and Capt Olsen.

Please congratulate Midshipman(WCCN) Douglas Hamilton as our new Executive Officer to TS Phoenix. Mr Hamilton is also no stranger to his new role and will do a grand job there! BRAVO ZULU Mid(WCCN) Hamilton, I look forward to working with you in the command chain.

Currently there is little preventing us from reaching GOLD STATUS!! We are sitting at 85% for the August check-in, 3 more and we will be at 100%. As stated by the previous CO upon reaching 90% we will move to gold status. That and taking back the lead in this quarters trades race. We currently sit in second behind the Army who have 23 passes to date. We are back on 17, so you can see we need a very good effort to get the lead back. We have more numbers than they so I expect this to change by the end of the month.

EVERYONE should be able to submit at least one trade and qualification submission EACH before the end of the month is out. If you cannot, please let me know why as I may be able to help you out if you are having difficulty.

There are many positions within the unit that are open or will soon be open. Please contact me if there is something you would like to consider if it is not already open. I am here to help in any way I can and encourage you all to step up for a new task and advance your WCC career. On this note I would like to remind the many of you that are eligible for promotion to get your rank tests submitted, ensure you hold the required trades/quals passes and SPEED IT UP - I WANT TO PROMOTE YOU :)

Look me up on msn, drop me a PM in the forums or write me an e-mail ANYTIME. I have an open door policy and am here to chat with you about anything WCC related or not, especially football :)

Let's make August the month for the Phoenix to rise above the rest.

Yours Aye,

Commander(N) Cameron Mackenzie

Executive Officer's Address
15 August 2008 I have been appointed the XO position and it is an honor to be back in my old seat. I have done the XO bit a bunch of times, so it's nothing new. I look forward to continue working to make the Navy the best it can be. Respectfully,

Officer Cadet(N) Douglas Hamilton

Executive Officer

Coxswain's Address

24 May 2008

Greetings Phoenix,

Welcome aboard and welcome back from stand down. We are doing a great job on the trades race and have a solid lead, lets keep it that way. I have a standing challenge out to the entire ships company, if we can break the 100 trades and quals mark by the end of the quarter I will pay each member 500 VBux. The CO has sweetened  the deal even further by offering 1000 VBux if you can pull this off, thats 1500 total so its a pretty good deal, make us pay you Phoenix.

Our next goal is recruiting, we would like to see Warrior back by the end of June, its going to take hard work and dedication to make that happen, to help bolster the effort I am willing to pay members of the ships company that recruit someone to the ship 500 VBux upon their completion of their JC test so if you recruit someone make sure they list your name in the referred by field of their join form.

With the start of summer watch fast approaching please make sure that you put any leave requests in at least 3 days in advance, if you are on division staff please give at least a week notice and email the Division Officer with at least 2 suitable substitutes so that we maintain appropriate staffing.

Yours,

Master Chief Petty Officer(N) Matt Gamret
